Alex Mayes will present a digital program covering the main events he attended in the first half of 2012. Included will be visits to the Magnolia Cutoff to see the progress on tunnel modification work on Randolph and Carothers tunnels in conjunction with CSX’s National Gateway Project; a trip on the El Chepe passenger train between Chihuahua and Los Mochis, Mexico; chasing trains on both of Winchester & Western’s lines; visits to the scenic bridges on CSX’s RF&P Sub; dedication of the restored former Western Maryland Railway diesels for use on the newly reopened Georges Creek line; chase of a special NS train powered by Tuscan Red Heritage diesel ES44AC No. 8102 and F-units Nos. 4270 and 4275 to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania; and the NRHS convention in Iowa.
