The concept of an auto ferry passenger train seemed so simple when Eugene Garfield began putting his Auto-Train together, that most observers cannot understand how it failed. Some observers question why, after Amtrak’s successful resurrection of the Auto Train, similar operations have not been attempted.  Join author Doug Riddell, author of the Auto-Train and Amtrak’s Auto Train as he shares his research to explore these questions, and possible answers.
